The bottom edge of the tape should be where you want the upper edge of the molding. STEP 3: You will want a 1/8" gap at each door edge. Starting at the front of your vehicle, measure the section of molding you will need to reach that gap. Use pruning shears or a sharp knife to bevel-cut the molding at a 45 degree angle.
